A reasonable usage estimate helps suppliers recommend equipment that is neither too small nor unnecessarily expensive. It does not need to be perfect, but it should reflect a normal working month.
Four ways to estimate usage
- Record the current meter reading and check it again after 30 days
- Review previous service invoices
- Check an existing managed print dashboard
- Estimate a typical week and multiply by four
Separate mono and colour where possible
Colour pages often have a different rate, so a split estimate is more useful than one total figure. Also note any predictable busy periods.
